DIRECTORS, STAFF HONORED FOR SERVICE TO NRD

The Lower Loup Natural Resources District honored four Directors and four staff members for their service at the NRD’s Annual Awards Dinner December 20, 2007 in Ord.

The Lower Loup honorees for 2007 are Beverly Smedra of Ord, Marie Schmeits of Spalding, Jim Nelson of Boelus, Dean Rasmussen of North Loup, and Rita Goldfish of Ord.  Not pictured: former District Secretary Phyllis Piontkowski of Loup City.
Lower Loup Directors Mike Gutzmer of Columbus and Alan Petersen of Burwell were recognized for 10 years of service to the District. They are pictured with

The honorees inlcuded Lower Loup Directors Jim Nelson of Boelus and Dean Rasmussen of North Loup, each with 35 years of service on the NRD Board. Mike Gutzmer of Columbus and Alan Petersen of Burwell were each recognized for serving 10 years as NRD Directors.

Staff members recognized included Rita Goldfish of Ord, 35 years as Administrative Secretary/Assistant at the NRD headquarters; Beverly Smedra of Ord, 30 years as District Secretary in Ord; and Marie Schmeits of Spalding, 20 years as District Secretary in Greeley.

District Secretary Phyllis Piontkowski, who retired in 2007, was recognized for 33 years of service to the Lower Loup Natural Resources District. Piontkowski worked in the now closed Loup City field office.

The 2007 Awards Dinner was held at the Veterans Club in Ord just prior to the December NRD Board of Directors meeting.
