Kyle Charron is the new NRD/NRCS Technician for the Lower Loup Natural Resources District in Custer County.

NEW NRD/NRCS TECHNICIAN HIRED FOR WORK IN CUSTER COUNTY

Kyle Charron has been hired as the new NRD/NRCS Technician for the Lower Loup Natural Resources District. Charron, who will be based in the NRCS office in Broken Bow, will coordinate NRD programs and offer conservation technical support to landowners and residents in Custer County.

Charron is a 2009 graduate of Chadron State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in water resources. He is a native of the Central City area and grew up on the family farm in Merrick County. His academic background includes GPS, GIS, hydrogeology and the geology of water resources.

Charron will be involved in collecting soil and water samples and other data for the NRD. He will also plant conservation trees, install drip irrigation, flow check wells, and conduct chemigation inspections. He will assist NRCS staff with survey, design, layout and inspections of various federal and state cost-share programs.

NRD General Manager Leon “Butch” Koehlmoos said “The District is pleased to welcome Kyle to our staff. He will play a key role in offering conservation assistance to the residents of Custer County.”
