NAPRSTEK IS NEW WATER MODELING COORDINATOR FOR THE LOWER LOUP NRD
Tylr Naprstek has been hired as the new Water Modeling Coordinator for the Lower Loup Natural Resources District. Naprstek will coordinate the NRD's work on the Elkhorn-Loup Modeling project and other data-gathering activities. These projects are designed to further the District's knowledge and understanding of the groundwater and surface water resources in the lower Loup River Basin.
Naprstek came to the Lower Loup NRD after serving as the Water Resource Manager for the Upper Elkhorn Natural Resources District in O'Neill. He has also worked as a water quality technician for the Middle Niobrara Natural Resources District in Valentine. Naprstek has a Bachelors of Science degree in Natural Resources from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
As the Water Modeling Coordinator, Naprstek will work with USGS to coordinate work on the ELM Project and utilize the model in making recommendations regarding groundwater development decisions in the Lower Loup. He will assist the NRD management and Board of Directors in establishing policies and procedures for the transfer of irrigated acres in the District and assist in the gathering of information to apply to the models.
