PRIVATE PESTICIDE TRAINING SESSIONS SCHEDULED ACROSS THE LOWER LOUP NRD

For Nebraska farmers wishing to apply pesticides to their farm land, it’s time to check the expiration date on their private pesticide applicators license. Private applicators are required to recertify once every three years.

The state of Nebraska recognizes three types of pesticide applicators: private, commercial, and noncommercial. The University of Nebraska Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources describes a private applicator as a certified applicator who uses any restricted use pesticide for purposes of producing any agricultural commodity. There are a number of categories into which an application of pesticides may fall. As a general rule, the category that a particular pesticide application fits into will relate to what the applicator is attempting to protect.

The Lower Loup Natural Resources District recognizes the value of the pesticide training program in protecting our soils and water from contamination and encourages participation in the program.

There are a number of private pesticide applicator trainings set for locations across the Lower Loup Natural Resources District. Here is a listing of those to come in the weeks ahead.
