ORD TEAM TIES FOR TOP RANGE SCORE AT STATE ENVIROTHON
An Ord High School team tied for first place in the range category and fourth overall at the 2008 Nebraska Envirothon contest held May 3, 2008 at the State 4-H Camp in the Nebraska National Forest at Halsey. The team of
Samantha Krikac, Aaron Kokes, Caleb Schauer, Bryan Nagorski, and Jamie Hornickel joined teams from Norris and Superior in scoring 40 of the possible 50 points in the range division of the contest.
The contest winner, a team from Wauneta Palisade, will represent Nebraska at the Canon Envirothon national contest July 28-August 3, 2008 at Northern Arizona University at Flagstaff, Arizona. The Wauneta Palisade team finished first in the forestry, policy,
soils, and aquatics division. Neligh-Oakdale finished second and Norris was third.
The 2008 Nebraska Envirothon was sponsored by the Nebraska Association of Resources Districts. Numerous agencies assist with the contest, including Nebraska Department of Natural Resources, Nebraska Game and Parks Commission,
Nebraska Department of Environmetal Quality, Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Nebraska Forest Service.
