Lower Loup NRD Board Will Meet August 23rd at 5:00 p.m., Budget Hearing at 5:15 p.m.

The Lower Loup Natural Resources District Board of Directors will meet Thursday, August  23rd, 2018. The meeting will be held at 5:00 p.m., and a public hearing on the FY 2019 Budget will begin at 5:15 p.m., all at the NRD Headquarters offices at 2620 Airport Drive in Ord.  The agenda for the meeting is available here.  The Budget Hearing notice is available here.

LLNRD Board Approves 2,500 New Irrigated Acres in Three Basins

Landowners in three river basins in the Lower Loup Natural Resources District (LLNRD) may apply for new groundwater irrigated acres for 2019.  The Lower Loup NRD Board of Directors approved the new irrigation at its meeting July 26th.  In the North Loup Basin, 1,250 irrigated acres will be granted; in the Middle Loup Basin, 500 acres will be offered; and in the Plum Creek, Beaver Creek and lower portion…

Crop Water Use Information Now Available for 2018 Growing Season

Crop water use information is now available from the Lower Loup NRD for the 2018 irrigation season.   The data is compiled by the University of Nebraska- Lincoln Extension and can be accessed by clicking on the “Resources” tab on the tool bar above.  Then, follow the drop-down box to “Crop Water Use.” The report includes information on daily crop water use for corn, soybeans, potatoes, and alfalfa. …
