Lower Loup NRD Helps Fund No-Till Presentation

The Lower Loup Natural Resources District is one of the agencies helping to fund a no-till farming presentation in Ord on December 5th.  Gabe Brown, a North Dakota farmer, will discuss his no-till operation which covers 5,000 acres.  Brown says by utilizing cover crops and grazing them, he has reduced his inputs and increased his profits.

The Cover Crop and No-Till Conference will include: 

  • Tips on No-Till Management
  • Proper Cover Crop Management and Utilization
  • Establishing and Maintaining Good Soil Health
  • Important No-Till Practices for Soil Erosion and Moisture Conservation

Other speakers at the event include Matt Niewohner of Albion, Pat Peterson of Gordon, Del Ficke of Pleasant Dale, Dan Dickau of Elwood, Steve Grudzinski of Loup City, and Luke Kovarik of Ord.
