Lower Loup NRD Appoints New Directors

Rick Vlach of Scotia and Larry Mohrman of Columbus have been appointed to vacancies on the Lower Loup Natural Resources District Board of Directors.  The NRD Board approved the appointments at its meeting on November 16th.

NRD General Manager Leon “Butch” Koehlmoos said that the appointments were approved following votes by the NRD Board.  He said the two seats will both be up for re-election in 2018.  In that election, the Subdistrict 4 seat will be a 4-year term and the Subdistrict 7 seat will be a 2-year term, followed by a 4-year term decided in the 2020 election.

The Subdistrict 4 vacancy was created by the retirement of Dean Rasmussen of North Loup and the death of Clifford Loseke of Columbus left the Subdistrict 7 seat vacant.

Vlach owns an excavation and earth moving company in Scotia and Mohrman is a farmer northwest of Columbus.
