Lower Loup Offers Scholarships To 2018 Range And Adventure Camps

The Lower Loup Natural Resources District is offering scholarships of  $100 for the 2018 Range Youth Camp and the 2018 Adventure Camp about the Environment (ACE). Both camps will be held at the Nebraska State 4-H Camp at Halsey.

NRD Information and Education Coordinator Larry Schultz said Range Camp will be held June 11th through the 15th and is designed to provide young people with an education in rangelands and rangeland management. It is designed to encourage leadership and good rangeland stewardship by Nebraska youth through increased awareness of natural resources issues. More information about range camp is available here

Schultz said that ACE Camp will be held June 10th through the 13th and is set up to increase students’ awareness of Nebraska’s natural resources. He said that students with opportunities for investigation and exploration of plants, water, wildlife and other natural resources. The ACE camp brochure with registration form is available here

Range camp is open to students age 14 to 18 and ACE Camp is open to students completing the 6th, 7th or 8th grades. The cost of Range Camp is $200 and the fee for the ACE Camp is $215.

Scholarships of up to $100 are available for either camp from the Lower Loup NRD. To qualify, students must submit a written request to the NRD by May 25th.
